Ryan Conlan These jerks are: So. Brutally. Good. Cosmically connected, abusively talented, giving all and yet somehow none of the fucks? See them live and hate yourself a little less. Buy their album and love them a little more. Listen on repeat while you sleep and wake up with an enlarged heart, your brain on fire, and two extra toes. If every band was this sonically structurally and emotionally inventive——I can't even. I must go. (but do yourself a favor and also check out The Drones!!) Favorite track: Braindrops.
finanime thumbnail
finanime I think I remember calling TFS's last album 'incredible' and 'transfixing'. Braindrops is even better. The album flows perfectly from start to finish, and its 48 minutes feel like an instant. I want to pick apart every note, and I love every song here. Favorite track: Maria 63.
masterjakestudios thumbnail
masterjakestudios The storm is mellowed but is clearly no weaker in satirising human psychology and ideology until you realise it's no longer funny. An orgy of omens that signals conspiracy, trauma, virality. Favorite track: Who’s My Eugene?.
Conan Neutron
Conan Neutron thumbnail
Conan Neutron The inexorable & indefatigable Aussies are back and they mean business. Braindrops is an utterly befuddling and "wrong" sounding record that is oh so "right."

There isn't a clear monster single like "tyres" on this one, but the whole thing has a snakey, baked in the sun vibe that works its way into your subconscious.

I'm fully present for TFS brand of non-euclidian geometry rocking.
RIYL: Polvo, Bad Seeds, Dead Rider, Leonard Cohen, the Knife
At this point: they just sound like themselves. Favorite track: Braindrops.
Low End Scum

Low End Scum Great follow up to their solid debut album. Has a lot of personality. Especially love the vocal contrast between the various harmonies. Favorite track: Aspirin.
